Good afternoon Ms. Holburn,
On behalf of Mayor Lehman, thank you for your correspondence.
The Mayor has asked that I convey his comments.
Firstly, may we sincerely apologize for the delay in responding to you. Your story is simply heartbreaking and the Mayor is very sympathetic to your cause; he has a young daughter of his own. Your initiative is a great idea. If you could please keep us notified as to your plans and efforts, we would be pleased to welcome you if your travels bring you to Barrie.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your story and for advising the Mayor of your initiative.
Regards,
Lauren

Oshawa Mayor John Henry's response to ask for their help with a Fundraiser and Lauch when I leave for my Journey. Guess it won't be Oshawa!
Good Afternoon Sarah,
Sorry to hear of your loss even though it happened a number of years ago. Our office does not have the power to allow your event to happen. There is a process that must be followed for all events when requesting items as the use of parks/closing of streets. You will need to send a letter to clerks@oshawa.caasking to be put on the next Corporate Services committee agenda. In your letter explain your event and what your needs will be and what you would like the city to do for you. I must tell you there are no guarantees that events are approved especially when asking for road closures or assistance from the city as we have our own issues in trying to keep a balanced budget. Items such as those have a cost associated to them and someone has to pay for those costs.
Regards,
